Tuesday March 31st

salvete omnes discipuli!

I hope that you and your families are well.

Today we will continue our review of major events in Roman History. In class we have discussed the life and death of Gaius Julius Caesar. The question is - What Happened Next?

Julius Caesar died in 44 BC; Octavian became the first Emperor in 27 BC. What was the chain of events?

There were 2 major battles which determined the transition from Republic to Empire: Philippi and Actium. We will be using National Geographic docudramas to study both.

As it happens the dialogue in the videos is in Latin and Greek with English sub-titles. I encourage you to strain your ears to see if you can understand!
